Hall Manages Top-10 Finish In Wrecked Race Car
Kyle Hall pulled into Old Dominion Speedway (VA) looking to improve on his two top-five finishes in a row. Unfortunately, Lady Luck decided to not show up for the race. Hall was involved in a wreck with another driver that severely damaged his race car.

Hall was happy with his car after qualifying. After the green flag flew, he patiently worked his way though the pack, waiting to drop the hammer until late in the race. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it that far.
“We qualified 10th,” said Hall. “I was feeling pretty confident about the car. I worked my way up to eighth and I was just riding around. I was waiting until about 50 laps to go then push it to the front.
“After a restart at lap 47, I went into a turn and a guy that spun out earlier and caused a caution nailed me in the back. He never lifted. That shoved me up the track into the wall and pretty much destroyed the car. I hit so hard it moved the seat back and the motor was shoved back three inches.
“I don’t know what he was thinking. I am not sure if he was mad at us or mad at the world or what. Some of the people in the stands told us after the race it was one of the hardest hits they have seen at the track.”
Even with the damaged car, Hall was still able to claim a 10th-place finishing position, continuing his streak of six top-10 finishes in his Late Model Stock career.
The damage to Hall’s car required the team to send the car to a repair shop. If repairs cannot be made before the next race, Hall has a backup plan in place.
“We took the car to a guy in Virginia to look at the car and repair it,” said Hall. “If we do not get the car back for this weekend, we are going to rent Frank Butler’s car and race with that. If we like that car, we might just buy it from him.”
Kyle Hall will return to Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, VA, for the Late Model Stock Car twin races on Saturday, June 9th.
