Hall Makes The Best Of Frustrating Race To Finish Seventh At Old Dominion
Coming off a seventh and 10th-place finish at Old Dominion Speedway (VA) in twin races the week before, Kyle Hall looked to better his finishing position Saturday at the historic track in his Late Model Stock car. Unfortunately a frustrating race was the order of the day for Hall, but he still managed to patiently work his way to a seventh-place finish, his 14th top-10 finish this season.
“We struggled the whole day,” said Hall. “I think when we put the spindles on we might have missed something. I think our front-end geometry is off. We had whole new parts in the front end because of problems in the previous weeks. We never could get the car where we wanted.”

Hall’s day started off with a qualifying run he initially wasn’t happy with, but after seeing how close the times were throughout the field, he wasn’t too disappointed.
“We qualified eighth and I initially wasn’t too happy with that,” said Hall. “I went back and looked at the times. The third place ran a .54 and we ran a .59 so that was really close.”
At the start of the race Hall used patience to work his way through the field. Late in the race he just didn’t have enough to make it all the way up to the leaders.
“It was a 200 lapper, so I was going to take it easy on the start. Everyone lagged back on the outside line and the inside line just blew by us. I fell back to around 12th in half a turn.
“Later in the race I started to work my way back up there. I got up to ninth and burned my tires trying to get around eighth. When I went to get around a lapped car I got sideways and had to save it. I ended up coming out with a seventh-place finish.”
While the results weren’t what Hall wanted, he was satisfied with the effort his team has put forth this season.
“We are working our butts off and we are doing the best we can,” said Hall. “We are giving 110 percent and I think we are doing really well considering our previous races. I think we are in contention for the championship.”
Kyle Hall will return to Lowe’s Motor Speedway (NC) for the eighth round of the Summer Shootout series in his #69 Semi-Pro Legends car on Tuesday, July 24th, then he will be back in his #69 Late Model Stock Car at Old Dominion Speedway (VA) on Saturday, July 28th.
