Hot Streak For Kyle Hall Continues With Third-Place Finish At Old Dominion
Many young drivers have been making their mark around the short track world, but only a few have had the kind of year Kyle Hall has had. Saturday Hall continued his 2007 hot streak by finishing third in his Late Model Stock car at Old Dominion Speedway (VA), which moved him to second in track points for the season.
After a rough race day last week at the track, Hall and the crew found a few things that caused him to be slow and corrected it for the race.

“We went out to practice and the car was really good,” said Hall. “We didn’t change anything from last week except we went over the brake system. I think we had bad fluid in there last week so we changed that and it helped us out a lot.
“We went into qualifying and I ended up timing in seventh. I wasn’t too happy with that. I was a bit disappointed in the car. We went over the car all over again and talked to some people. We found an adjustment that we hoped would help the car come out of the turns.”
The race started off typical for Hall as he ran up through the field towards the front. While he was not able to contend for the win, the competition knew he was there.
“We started out in the race and got up to fourth in a couple laps,” explained Hall. “The car felt really good. We were just saving our tires. Later in the race we were able to battle for the third place. We ended up getting around him. We had a late caution and it took my car a few laps to get going so we fell back a bit but by the checkered flag we were all over the second place guy.
“It really boosted my confidence because I didn’t know if it was driver error from past weeks or if it was the car, or a combination of both. It just paid off this weekend for us. Hopefully we will come back for the twins and sneak out a win.”
This week Hall returns to his Legends car in the Summer Shootout at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (NC) for the fourth and fifth rounds of a 10-round summer series. In the first three rounds, Hall has obtained two second-place finishes, putting him in the points lead for the Semi-Pro division.
“We are currently first in the points in our Legends car at the Summer Shootout,” said Hall. “Tuesday night we are going to do the best we can. We are not going to push the issue and take a chance of tearing up the car. Basically I want to bring the car home in one piece so Wednesday we can come back and get a win or a good finish.”
Hall will pilot his #69 Semi-Pro Legends Tuesday, July 3rd and Wednesday, July 4th at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the Summer Shootout Series. Hall will return to Old Dominion Speedway (VA) in his Late Model Stock Car on Saturday, July 14th for the Twin 75-lap races.
