Hall Comes From The Back Twice For Fourth-Place Finish
Kyle Hall has had to work for every finish this season at Old Dominion Speedway (VA). None of his finishes have been handed to him, showing he has a “never give up” attitude when it comes to racing. That attitude was once again put to the test Saturday when Hall had to work his way up through the pack from the back twice, giving him a fourth-place finish.
Hall was optimistic at the start of the day, hoping everything would go like clockwork. But a part failure set him back once again.

“During practice the whole day we were really good,” said Hall. “We had help from a guy off Sam Betty’s team. He graciously spent time with us to help us get a little faster.
“I was confident heading into qualifying. We had a good selection of tires, but when we went out to scuff tires the car just died on me. I had to get pushed back to the pits and ended up not being able to qualify. When we looked at the car the battery was shorted out.”
Hall started the event from the back and quickly worked his way up through the field. Contact and a call by officials put him to the back a second time, forcing him to get up on the wheel the rest of the race.
“I started the race in 15th and I was up to sixth around lap 15,” said Hall. “Coming down the backstretch I worked under the fifth-place guy and gave him plenty of room but he came down on me and took himself out. It didn’t hurt our car but the officials decided to put me to the back, so I had to work my way back up from 14th.
“With five laps to go I was all over the third-place driver’s bumper. I tried to make a move on the last lap but used up my tires getting to the front so I had to settle for fourth place, which kept me third in track points.”
Kyle Hall will return to the seat of his #69 Late Model Stock Car for the next race at Old Dominion Speedway (VA) on Saturday, August 25th.
