Kyle Hall Continues Hot Streak With Fifth-Place Finish
Old Dominion Speedway (VA) has been a great place to race this year for Kyle Hall. This weekend he continued to impress the masses with a fifth-place finish.
Hall’s day started off with a solid practice session and qualifying run.
“The car was good all day in practice,” said Hall. “We went into qualifying and the first lap was good, but the second lap I drove it in too hard.”
Starting fourth for the feature event, Hall didn’t quite have the race he wanted, but still managed a top-five finish.
“In the race I started fourth,” said Hall. “It was one of my worst starts to a race. I think I got on the gas too hard and spun the tires, which dropped me back to around seventh. I spent a while working my way back up there, and I got up to third and ran down second place. On a restart I am not sure if the leader brake checked or what, but I went to the outside of the front two and that messed me up and I fell back again to around eighth.
“We got the car pretty decent. We ended up working the car up to fifth. It wasn’t too bad of a race. If I would have been a bit more patient I think we would have had a better finish.”
Kyle Hall will have a weekend off before returning to the seat of his #69 Late Model Stock Car for the next race at Old Dominion Speedway (VA) on Saturday, September 15th.
