Kyle Hall Ready For Late Model Debut In 2007
For many drivers, the off-season allows them to reflect on the prior year of racing and make adjustments to their car to improve from one year to the next.  For 16-year-old Kyle Hall, the off-season brought forth anticipation and excitement as he prepares to get behind the wheel of a Late Model Stock Car for the first time in his career.

“I will be racing my Late Model this year, mostly at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas (VA),” said Hall.  “In a few weeks I will be there for their first race of the season, which will be my first career Late Model race.  We have tested about three or four times, and the first time we tested we were right at the track’s qualifying times.  So I am excited to start the season off with a good showing.”
Over the past few years, the Washington, D.C.-native Hall has spent time racing in the Legends circuits, snagging wins at tracks like Shenandoah, Langley Speedway, Lanier and Old Dominion.  This, he says, will help in his adaptation to the heavier car.

“Racing the Legends car has given me good experience for the Late Model,” explained Hall.  “I was worried at first on the big change to a Late Model, but actually they are a whole lot easier to drive.  Legends cars are always on the verge of being loose the whole time you are racing.  The Late Model is calmer and sturdier, so I like that.

“While running up front this year would be good, our main goal is to finish races and get experience in the car.  We are also looking at running a few races at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) and Orange County Speedway (NC), so that will give us more experience at other facilities.”
In 2006, Hall competed in a couple Summer Shootout Legends races at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (NC).  While his main focus in 2007 will be the Late Model Stock Car, Hall will also compete in the 2007 Shootout, striving for the coveted championship.

“We will be racing the whole Summer Shootout in our Legends car with help from Chris Rogers.  We raced a few races last year, but it was hard due to traveling.  This year we are ready for the full Shootout.”

Until then, his focus is on the March 31st race at Old Dominion, where he will have plenty of coaching and support.

“I have talked to some of my old Legends friends to help me out and tell me their experience in a Late Model there.  My Dad, Godfather and Brother-In-Law have been helping me out a ton as well.  Also, I cannot express how much Dickie Boswell has helped us.  We bought our car from him, which is the car his son Rich used to race before driving for JR Motorsports.  Whenever we need him, Dickie is there helping us out, and that means a lot to me.”
