April was a good month for Kyle Hall Racing - April 12th

After a week of vigorous work swapping motors, Kyle Hall and his crew came back to try and once again to compete for the win at Southern National Raceway Park.
Hall and his crew used every second of practice time they could and adjusted the car often to try and get the car as fast as it had been the week before. However, after the second practice, the team realized that the motor they had worked on all week did not have as much power as the motor from the week before. Reduced power left Hall with a distinct disadvantage.
After practice was over and qualifying was about to start, it rained, canceling qualifying for all divisions. The starting order was determined by point's positions, putting Hall in 4th place.
Given the engine problems, Hall and his crew determined to just try for a top 5. When Hall took the green, he dropped back to 5th and waited. As the race progressed, Hall found the groove and his racecar became faster and faster. He worked his way past third and closed on the second place car. In a great move, Hall passed the second place car and the chase was on.
Hall had a quite a gap to close on the first place car, but once he cleared traffic and the second place car, he began closing the gap. Lap by lap, Hall moved closer and closer to first place.
With only 3 laps to go, Hall had caught the leader and was working on a pass. The young driver was all over the leader's bumper until the final turn. He feigned inside and then in a risky move and went to the outside of the 1st place car, and beat him to the line by .007 seconds and giving Hall his first win of the 2008 season.
