April was a good month for Kyle Hall Racing - April 6th

Kyle Hall set out for the 50 lap feature on April 6, 2008 at Southern National Raceway Park. As Hall and his crew unloaded for practice, Hall was hoping for the best. Soon the driver and crew were in sync and his practice times improved. Although Hall was still learning the track, by the time practice was through, his times were right up there with point's leaders.
After making his 5th place qualifying run, Hall and his crew were pleased.
"The car's fast, there's no doubt about it. I think I might have made a small mistake in qualifying, but 5th is still pretty good" Hall said. "We're really good on the long runs so it's going to be interesting on how today's race goes."
After scuffing the tires a few times, Hall was ready to get the green flag for the 50 lap main event. For the first 15 laps of the race, Hall stayed in 5th until his car, as predicted, got better and better. After passing 4th, Hall began to reel in the 3rd place car. Then disaster struck. Hall's motor went up in smoke coming out of turn two ending his day with an 18th place finish.
"I think we dropped a valve in the motor, but I know we'll fix it and come back. Next week we'll be in contention for the win," Hall said.
