Knocking on the leader's door

After coming off another win at Southern National Raceway Park, Hall was hoping to continue his streak and pull off another win on July 12th. To prepare his car for the twin 50’s at S.N.R.P, Hall and his crew tested and tuned the car properly during both of the practice sessions. After hall and his crew felt the car was going to perform to the best of its ability, they waited anxiously for qualifying. After receiving the pole the last race, Hall was determine to try and have a repeat of success. However, Hall would have to settle in the 2nd place position, but he was very close to achieving the pole position. Since there was a 4 car invert for the first of the two 50 lap events, Hall had to start in the 3rd place position.

When the field took the green flag Hall was quick to put the pressure on the 1st place car for the lead. In only 4 laps, Hall made a good pass, and started to walk away from the rest of the field. With 20 laps remaining, Hall had 10 car lengths on the 2nd place car. A caution came out short after, but Hall kept focused and pulled away from the field again and won for the second time in a row.

After Halls crew made some minor adjustments, they were ready for the second 50 lap event. For the start of the second 50 lap race, Hall had to start 7th due to the invert. On the start of the race, Hall had transmission problems which cost him quite a bit of ground from the rest of the field. Determined as ever, Hall chased on picking off one competitor at a time. After getting into the 3rd place position with around 25 laps to go, Hall had quite a bit of ground to make up.

With only 15 to go, hall had chased down the 3rd place car, which was 7 car lengths ahead, and got around him. With not much time Hall pushed his car hard as ever to make up the 10 car lengths that the lead car had on Hall. As the laps winded down, Hall got close and closer to the bumper of the leader, and with only 1 lap remaining he was knocking on the leaders door and was able to get right on thier bumper. However, Hall ran out of time, and had to settle for a 2nd place position.
